Portability

Unix

The Shell Laboratory should compile on every flavour of UNIX, once you get Tcl/Tk, OpenGL (Mesa), and Togl to run. In fact, the Shell Laboratory is known to run on:
  • Linux
  • NetBSD
  • Irix
  • Solaris
  • HP-UX

Acorn

Sincronia (It.) ported the command-line driven frontend shelly to the Acorn. Additionally, they added two new output types (TopPoly and TopBez) to support their modeller TopModel.

Amiga

Shelly should run on Amiga, too. (Not tested with 2.1, though.) There are shelly-executables for the Amiga in the ShellyLibV2.0 distribution.

Macintosh

A complete port of the Shell Laboratory is planned, once Togl is available for this platform.

NextStep

Guido Quaroni ported ShellyV1.6 to a plug-in for solidThinking (a modeller running on NextStep).
